Oregon true freshman ( Defensive Tackle ) Arik Armstead saw his first collegiate action on Saturday against Arkansas State. And although the significant portion of Armstead’s playing time came in the second half when the Ducks were comforatably ahead, his coaches say his performance scored well. Armstead himself said after Monday’s practice he’s still young and has a lot to learn, but said he felt comfortable and ready to play in the Ducks hybrid 3-4 defensive scheme. In his post practice interview session with reporters, Armstead discussed his performance and how it felt to play in his very first college football game.
