University of Oregon running back Kenjon Barner was named National Player of the Week by the Walter Camp Football Foundation and Pac-12 Player of the Week (offense), following his record-setting day against USC.

Barner, a senior from Riverside, Calif., rushed for a school-record 321 yards on 38 carries (8.4 average) and five touchdowns as the second-ranked Ducks defeated No. 18 USC, 62-51.
Barners five rushing touchdowns, which came on runs of 27, 5, 9. 5 and 22 yards, tied the Pac-12 single-game record.Additionally, his 321 rushing yards represent the fourth-highest single-game total in conference history and are the most ever allowed by USC.
Barner has rushed for 100 yards or more in five straight games.  He leads the Pac-12 and ranks second in the FBS in rushing (143.89 ypg), and his 13.33 scoring average is tied for the national lead.
The Pac-12 weekly honor was the third of Barner’s career.   Oregon’s third all-time leading rusher (3,151 yards) earned the award on special teams vs. UCLA as a freshman in 2009 and on offense vs. Nevada in 2010.

Last week, Barner and sophomore all-purpose standout De’Anthony Thomas were named two of 16 players selected as semifinalists for the 76th Maxwell Award, given to the collegiate football player of the year as chosen by the Maxwell Football Club national selection committee.
