IT’S OFFICIALLY A FIESTA FOR THE DUCKS – Iowa State Awaits Oregon for a January 2nd Date in Glendale, AZ.

With the College Football Playoffs matchups announced, the rest of the New Year’s 6 bowl game slate is set with the No. 25 Ducks facing No. 10 Iowa State in the Fiesta Bowl on January 2nd.

The Cyclones (8-3) lost the Big XII Conference title game 27-21 to Oklahoma on Saturday. Iowa State will be making their first-ever appearance in the Fiesta, while the Ducks are 2-0 in this bowl game.

Oregon defeated Colorado in 2002 ( 38-16 ) led by Joey Harrington and then defeated Kansas State 35-17 in 2013 led by eventual Heisman Trophy winner Marcus Mariota who was just a freshman at the time.

As the Pac-12 champion, Oregon would have normally tabbed to play in the Rose Bowl, but the Granddaddy of Them All is one of the College Football Playoff Semifinal games this season per the contract rotations. With the Rose Bowl unavailable, the Ducks were shifted to the Fiesta.

Due to the significant closures in the State of California because of the Covid-19 virus, the Rose Bowl will now be played in Arlington, Texas at AT&T Stadium.
