Happy Game Day Duck Fans!
It’s Wednesday which means it’s bowl day for No. 15 Oregon and North Carolina who will meet this evening in the Holiday Bowl in San Diego.
First, to the weather.
As expected, heavy rain came through the San Diego area overnight and certainly gave the city ( and stadium ) a good soaking. On Tuesday grounds crews at Petco Park were still working on the field markings and sideline areas so we’re not sure if the field was covered overnight through the rain.
As of 7:00 am this morning a heavy cloud layer covered the area and the rain has stopped. However, the forecast still calls for showers throughout the day.

For those interested, the 27th Annual SDCCU Holiday Bowl 5k Run/Walk will take place Wednesday morning along the harbor front beginning at the corners of Harbor Drive and Park Blvd and will finish at Ruocco Park.. Registration can be done near the starting area which begins at 8:00 AM. The 5k begins at 9:45 AM.
Also on tap today is the Port of San Diego Holiday Bowl Parade.
Billed as America’s largest balloon parade, the parade begins at 10:00 AM along the streets of the bayfront. Bowl fans will see world-class marching bands, special floats, drill teams, and as billed a procession of large magnificent balloons. The parade will begin near E. Harbor Drive and Park Blvd and travel north along the bayfront until it disbands near Ruocco Park.
Tailgate Party

KICKOFF – NO. 15 OREGON vs NORTH CAROLINA
Kick-off of the Holiday Bowl is scheduled for 5:00 PM local time at Petco Park in the gaslamp district of San Diego.
The game will be nationally broadcast on Fox-TV.
