THE COMMUNITY OF OREGON FOOTBALL MOURNS THE LOSS OF KHYREE JACKSON – Candlelight Vigil Scheduled for Wednesday Evening in Autzen Stadium

Sometimes life just runs over us like a strong running back might run over a linebacker.

It’s hard-hitting and can leave you feeling beat up, dejected, and very often lost.

We all felt that when the news was released about the tragic passing of former Oregon CB Khyree Jackson who died last weekend in a car accident.

Another young talented life was taken way too soon leaving his family and the Oregon football community stunned and lost. Also lost in the car accident were Anthony Lytton Jr. and Isaiah Hazel, both high school teammates of Jackson.

Oregon athletic director Rob Mullens, head football coach Dan Lanning, and the Oregon football program made this statement regarding the loss of their teammate and friend.

“We mourn the loss of Khyree Jackson and all of those lost in this tragic accident. We are thinking of Khyree’s family, friends, and teammates during this difficult time, and he will forever be in our hearts. Rest in peace, Khyree.”

Jackson played the 2023 season at Oregon, earning first-team all-Pac-12 honors before being selected in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings. 

A candlelight vigil is scheduled for Wednesday evening ( 8:00 PM ) at Autzen Stadium to remember and celebrate Khyree the person and the player.

The candlelight vigil is open to the public. The south gate will open at 7:30 pm.
