DUCKS HIT DAY 1 OF FALL CAMP WITH PASSION AND EXECUTION – “I think we’re going to bring great effort and enthusiasm, now we have to go in and coach the technique we saw” – Dan Lanning

The Ducks opened fall camp on Wednesday and from all accounts it was a very good first day.

“I think every coach in the nation knows you’re going to have energy and enthusiasm on day one,” said Oregon head coach Dan Lanning in his post-practice remarks.

“I’ve never been around a team that didn’t have that. What I was looking for from our team is execution. We’ve had a lot of spring practices and a lot of walk-throughs,…a lot of prep time to get it right. I thought our guys got it right today.”

Lanning knew his team would hit the practice field on Wednesday with great enthusiasm, but for him, the priority is to practice with efficiency and purpose without the mental errors often seen in the early days of camp.

“I think we’re going to bring great effort and enthusiasm and now we have to go in here and coach the technique that we saw.”

“I wanted to make sure we’re not walking out here and running 15 defenses that we can’t run….that we bust every time. Or 15 plays on offense that don’t work because we’re not running the right route or blocking the proper guy.

“I didn’t see that today. I saw guys execute at a high level which is the expectation.”
