ANTHONY BROWN BRINGING A NEW, DETAILED APPROACH TO HIS GAME – “It’s more focused and more detailed”

Actress Ingrid Bergman once said, “getting old is like climbing a mountain, you get a little out of breath but the view is much better.”

For Oregon quarterback Anthony Brown, the view from that particular mountain is likely a spectacular one.

Entering his sixth season in college football, and having started 18 consecutive games for Boston College as a sophomore and junior, Brown is coming into his final season with another opportunity to shine as one of the best signal-callers in the game.

And what’s brought Brown to that point?

It’s his fire to win and his will to simply get better every time he steps on the field.

Brown enters the 2021 campaign as Oregon’s number one quarterback and arguably the most experienced player on the team. In his time behind center, at both B.C and Oregon, Brown has thrown for more than 5,000 yards and connected on 42 scoring plays.

“I would say it’s more focused,…more detailed” explained Brown when asked Tuesday about his maturation process of getting to where he is today.

“Knowing what I’m looking for,…knowing what I’m looking to go watch,…knowing what I’m working on, is the biggest difference from when I was younger to now. I would just say a more detailed approach.”

Being exceptionally prepared and having game experience, especially in football, is the great equalizer when it comes to being a college football quarterback.

Brown has both of those categories in spades.

In his 18 consecutive starts for the Eagles, Brown threw 29 touchdowns and completed 239 of 422 attempts for a passing percentage of 56%. And in those 422 attempts, Brown was picked off just 11 times.

On Tuesday, Brown spoke with the media and talked about his journey from Boston College to Eugene and his preparedness to take on the starting role in leading the Duck offense.
