LANNING TAKES FULL CONTROL OF THE OREGON FOOTBALL REINS – “I know we’ve got great men of character, great coaches and teachers that are going to be around our players, and I couldn’t be more thrilled about the group we put together”

Coming off of a National Championship win over Alabama, Dan Lanning has landed in Eugene and is now in complete control of his new football program.

Lanning arrived in Eugene earlier this week on Tuesday and has spent the last 48 hours getting acquainted with his new digs, his new coaching staff and his new roster of players.

“I know we’ve got great men of character, great coaches and teachers that are going to be around our players,” Lanning said Thursday during his first official on-site media briefing in the Hatfield Dowlin Complex.

“I couldn’t be more thrilled about the group we put together.”

Juggling hats and responsibilities in two different programs has been a difficult task said Lanning when asked about his last month of coaching for both Georgia and Oregon, but he said he wouldn’t of had it any other way.

“I wouldn’t change a minute of it,” Lanning said.

“It’s been such a rewarding experience, getting to go compete with the players I’ve coached for such a long time, and finish it on a high note with winning a national championship.”
