FIRST AP POLL IS OUT – Duck Men’s Basketball Opens In The Top 20

The first game is just a couple of weeks away and the Associated Press has come out with its first poll of the 2020-21 season for men’s basketball with the Ducks coming in at No. 20.

Gonzaga was voted to start the season as the No. 1 team in the nation. Rounding out the Top 5 are Baylor, Villanova, Virginia and Iowa.

Arizona State is the highest ranked Pac-12 team coming in at No. 18 with Oregon two spots behind them. UCLA is ranked No. 22.

Stanford is the only other conference team to receive votes.

The Ducks are coming off a Pac-12 title, but lost the conference player of the year in Payton Pritchard. They do return Chris Duarte, Will Richardson and N’Faly Dante to anchor a squad that will feature a great recruiting class and some transfers that make Oregon a favorite to win the Pac-12 once again.
