DAN LANNING STRIKES GOLD – One of the best quarterback recruits in the nation just committed to Oregon on SportsCenter

Oregon assumed Dan Lanning and his staff would be able to recruit just as well as their successor Mario Cristobal. But the new guys are quickly proving they might be just a bit better in signing top-tier talent.

Five-star quarterback Dante Moore out of Detroit, Mich. just went on ESPN’s SportsCenter and committed to the Ducks. Many rate Moore as the top signal-caller in the nation after earning MVP honors at the Sports Illustrated Elite 11 football camp.

He chose the Ducks over the likes of LSU, Texas A&M, Notre Dame, and a whole host of other top schools.

Moore is the first five-star to commit to Oregon in what is becoming an impressive Class of 2023 and now we’re getting a glimpse of what Lanning can do with an entire recruiting cycle to work with.

Oregon also landed four-star cornerback Caleb Presley, who is also the top recruit out of the state of Washington. So far, Lanning has gathered up 11 verbals for the Class of ’23, a class that could easily be a Top 10 class or better once the recruits sign on the dotted line in December.

In his post-selection interview with SportsCenter, Moore mentioned Oregon’s facilities, their ability to develop quarterbacks and the talent already on the roster to make plays.
