It wasn’t the start to the game that Dan Lanning wanted or expected.
In the first quarter alone the Ducks tossed an interception and fumbled a quarterback snap that was returned for a touchdown.
It wasn’t the type of play Lanning is used to seeing out of his No. 6 ranked Ducks.
“I thought our guys responded, unfortunately, I think we hurt ourselves to much today,” said Lanning in his postgame comments.
“That’s something we have to go out and coach. I’ll say this, that’s a hungry locker room and their certainly not satisfied. Last week has nothing to do with this week and this week has nothing to do with the next week. It’s about what product we put out on the field and really through the week for us to continue to build and grow as a team. I’m anxious to see our guys do that this week.”
