Oregon has accepted an invitation to play in the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl on Monday, January 1, 2024, at State Farm Stadium in Glendale.
The No. 8 Ducks (11-2) will take on No. 23 Liberty (13-0) at 10 a.m. PT on ESPN.
The highest-ranked conference champion from the American Athletic, Conference USA, and the Sun Belt Conference automatically receives one spot in the Fiesta, Cotton, or Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl if it’s not in the College Football Playoff.
The playoff committee slotted Liberty ( Conference USA Champion ) as the No. 23 ranked team in its final rankings thus taking the lone New Year’s Six slot in the Fiesta Bowl.
The Flames were the highest-ranked Group of Five team in the Top 25 at 13-0.
Oregon will make its 37th all-time appearance in a bowl game, 14th in a New Year’s Six bowl game, and fourth in the Fiesta Bowl. The Ducks are 2-1 all-time in the Fiesta Bowl, with wins over Colorado (Jan. 1, 2002) and Kansas State (Jan. 3, 2013) and a loss to Iowa State (Jan. 2, 2021).
This will be the first-ever meeting between Oregon and Liberty.
2023 Oregon football season ticket holders and active Duck Athletic Fund Members will receive an email from the Oregon athletic department Sunday afternoon indicating their specific Fiesta Bowl game presale time and link.
