Oregon center Jackson Powers-Johnson was announced as a first-team all-American by the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) on Monday morning while wide receiver Troy Franklin was named to the second team.
After being announced as a Walter Camp first-team all-American on Friday, Powers-Johnson has now been named to the first team for the first two of the five official outlets that make up consensus and unanimous all-Americans.
Powers-Johnson would earn consensus all-America status if he is named to the first team by the Associated Press, American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) or Sporting News, and would become the fifth unanimous all-American in program history if he lands on the first team for all three.
Powers-Johnson joins Penei Sewell (2019), Jake Fisher (2014) and Steve Barnett (1962) as the only Oregon offensive linemen ever to be named FWAA first-team all-Americans.
Franklin is the first Oregon wide receiver since 1997 to be named a first- or second-team all-American by any official outlet and is the first UO receiver ever to land on a FWAA all-America team.
