BO NIX DISCUSSES CIVIL WAR AND HIS FINAL GAME AT AUTZEN STADIUM – “All good things come to an end and you have to make sure the last one is worthwhile”

Securing a win over No. 15 Oregon State is the first thing on everyone’s mind during this Civil War week.

A win not only propels the No. 6 Ducks into the conference championship game next Friday evening against Washington, but it also keeps their hopes alive for a bid in the College Football Playoff.

And while this Duck team and fans are keeping their eyes firmly locked in on that prize, many might be overlooking the fact that Friday’s contest against the Beavers is the last game Bo Nix will play in Autzen Stadium.

His final go-round as the starting quarterback in front of the home fans! It’s hard to believe these past two years have gone by so quickly.

It’s been an incredible experience for Nix coming to Eugene, and one he completely appreciates.

“I think at the end of the day it’s just all about what the players and coaches that I play with say,” explained Nix when asked about his legacy at Oregon.

“I think that means most to me than anything. You know, how I made them feel, what kind of mark I made on them. I think at the end of the day you know the playing kind of takes care of the fans and the whole outlook of the whole entire program. I think what you do on the field obviously has a lot to do with legacy and so like I said I just want to make sure I go out there and execute and finish strong.”

And finishing strong is something Nix would like to do in his final game at home.

And because it is Nix’s final home game it brings with it a ton of different emotions.

“I’ve spent a lot of time knowing it’s my last one,” said Nix on Tuesday.

“It’s kind of sad just because of all the good memories I have in there, ( Autzen Stadium ) but at the same time all good things must come to an end. You know you just have to make sure you make the last one worthwhile and you don’t miss an opportunity to go out on a good note.”
